Church Art Days

The next Church Art Day event is this Sunday, 8th June at the Guyhirn Chapel of Ease from 10am until 4pm. The Chapel is 4m SW of Wisbech off A47, you can see a map here and the OS map ref is TF 403 040. Built in 1660, the Chapel is simple and austere in design reflecting 17th century Puritan worship. Please do come along and enjoy some sketching, painting, photography or anything else! Bring a picnic and stay as long or as short a time as you like but please be aware that there are NO toilet facilities at the Chapel.

The last Church Art Day on 25th May at St Michael's church, Longstanton only attracted a small but determined band of artists but we had great fun despite the dreadful weather! Courtesy of Rob Morris, here are some photos of the day:

An exterior shot of the church. St Michael's has a thatched roof.

Eleanor playing violin in the church. The acoustics were fantastic!

Some lovely tombstones in the nicely overgrown churchyard.

Looking down the church from the altar.

The stained glass windows at the altar.

Marian trying to balance an umbrella and a drawing board, no mean feat!!

Looking across the church from the entrance porch.
