We have received some information regarding artwork for The Cavell Centre in Peterborough which members may be interested in. Below is a brief for a new piece of public artwork for the centre.
The centre is also seeking to display local artists' work at the centre. The work would be displayed on a rotation basis with artists loaning the work for an agreed period of time. Public artwork
Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Foundation NHS Trust and The Cambridge and Peterborough Foundation for arts and mental health (Arts and Minds) are seeking expressions of interest from visual artists/designers for an imaginative piece of public artwork at The new mental health unit at The Cavell Centre, Bretton, Peterborough.
The Cavell Centre is a new purpose built mental health unit for the elderly and adults. Phase 1 of the unit opened on the 26th November 2008 for older people. Phase 2 of the build is due for completion May 2009 when the acute adult ward opens.
Brief
Proposals are invited from artists to design a decorative clock to be situated in the foyer/reception area at the Cavell Centre, Bretton. The design will reflect the following themes: openness, woodland, trees, new growth, new beginnings, well being, hopefulness. Arrangements will be made for artists to visit the unit during March 2009.

£1,000.00 To include artists fee, travel, materials,
Project completion
Designs to be submitted by 31st March 2009. Design to be installed by 18th May 2009.
Insurance
Artists will be expected to be responsible for his/her own insurance/tax contributions and must have appropriate public liability insurance.
